Doug Harpold, was named Citizen of the Year by the Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge. Harpold, funeral home director and manager of Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, earned this award for his visibility in the community as a local business owner. He is a member of the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce, Marana Chamber of Commerce, and an officer at Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge. 

Jan Trudeau, was named Elk of the Year. Trudeau was recognized for her contributions to the lodge and the community as Community and Lodge Activities Coordinator. Her never-ending energy is evident when working with Impact of Southern Arizona in stocking its food bank, purchasing gifts for the Adopt-A-Family program and planning Lodge events.

Richard Esparza, was named Elk Officer of the Year. Esparza earned the distinction for his first-place performance as inner guard at the Elks’ District Ritual Team Competition, and he received an award for the hardest-working officer on the team.

Matthew Gordon, was named Firefighter of the Year. Gordon, a firefighter from the Golder Ranch Fire District, received the award for his selfless commitment in helping others and for the valuable service he provides to the community.

Matthew Roth, was named Police Officer of the Year. Roth was recognized by the Oro Valley Police Department for his quick response to emergency situations and his dedicated service in creating a safer environment in protecting the citizens and visitors of Oro Valley.
