On Aug. 21, Pima County and its contractor, Southern Arizona Paving, will be activating a temporary traffic signal at the intersection of Orange Grove and Shannon roads. Once the temporary signal is activated, traffic will be shifted on Orange Grove between Camino de la Tierra and Shannon Road to the north side (westbound lane) of the roadway to align with the current lane configuration on Orange Grove Road from Shannon Road to La Cholla Boulevard.

With the reduced lanes, the traffic signal at the intersection of Orange Grove at Shannon roads will be adjusted to a split-phase timing to allow continued movements in all directions. Minor delays may occur.

Traffic is reduced to 25 mph through the construction zone. Flag personnel and sheriff’s deputies will be directing traffic through the intersection.

Motorists driving through the work zone can expect delays during this project and are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Traffic barricades and signage will be in place to direct traffic.

Officials say motorists should approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.
