Pima Community College is proud to host Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and a wide range of community organizations at a conference focused on helping former criminal offenders re-enter the workforce.

Second Chance, designed to connect employers to those with prior convictions, is Friday, Sept. 27 from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. in the gymnasium at PCC’s West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Road [MAP].

A welcome is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by speakers and panels, including a panel on ex-offenders who have successfully transitioned into society and employment.

There is no charge for attending the event, which will provide information on job training, restoration of rights and other topics, along with sessions on tax incentives for employers, and presentations from experts on re-entry issues.

“We are proud to partner with Pima Community College in educating employers about this long-ignored and often misunderstood aspect of workforce development,” Mayor Rothschild says.

Diane Williams, president and CEO of Safer Foundation, a national group that works on re-entry issues, will deliver the keynote address.

For more information, contact Karla Avalos-Soto with the mayor’s office, 791-4201.
