Northwest fire units responded to Tangerine Road and Dove Mountain Blvd. just after 9 a.m. this morning in response to a dump truck accident.

Units arrived and found a tandem dump truck that had lost control and veered off Tangerine Road. No other vehicles were involved.

The back trailer of the tandem dump truck came to rest on top of the front portion of the truck.  Both sections of the truck had serious damage.

The truck was eastbound on Tangerine and lost control into the desert south of Tangerine and West of Dove Mountain.

The driver, a 67 year-old male, was wearing a seatbelt at the time and suffered minor injuries.  He was treated by NWFD paramedics and released at the scene.

No roadway closures occurred as a result of the incident.

The Marana Police Department was on scene to conduct an investigation into  what caused the truck to leave the roadway.
