Just in time for Halloween, the Marana Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a free Eerie Hike of the Tortolitas on Oct. 27.

In the spirit of the season, enjoy a scavenger-hunt 3-mile hike in Wild Burro Wash. This hike goes through a sand wash with minimal elevation gain and features ghoulish flora and rock formations, such as coffin rock and the line shack.

More guided hikes are scheduled for Nov. 10 and Dec. 8. Most are between 5 and 8 miles with elevation gains of 300 to 500 feet. During the hikes, knowledgeable guides provide information about the Tortolita’s plants and wildlife.
