Jerry Ramon Jackson, 23, has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault in conjunction with the Aug. 31 shooting of a 74-year-old man.
On Sept. 21, deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department arrested Jackson after their investigative efforts and evidence led them to an apartment at 2800 W. Broadway Blvd. in Tucson, where they believed he was staying.
Detectives from the sheriff's Robbery Assault Team had been investigating the case since the suspect allegedly shot the 74-year-old victim, who had answered a Craigslist ad for an iPad.
The suspect and the victim met in the 2300 block of West Ina Road just before 10 a.m. that Wednesday. When the victim arrived, the suspect allegedly entered his vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim.
Then, the gunman allegedly shot the man in the shoulder before fleeing the scene on foot, according to Dawn Barkman, a spokeswoman for the department.
