School bus collision with Toyota Prius

A Marana Unified School District bus turning left out of Estes Elementary School collided with a Toyota Prius at 2:10 p.m. traveling southbound on Grier Road.

The bus driver was unable to see the Prius and pulled out in front of it. The front end of both vehicles sustained damage. 

There were 55 students on the bus and the Northwest Fire Department checked 16 of them for injuries. No one went to the hospital. The driver of Prius was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
