Brent Winnie returned home to Oro Valley for a visit, much to the delight of his friends and family. The 2006 graduate of Canyon Del Oro High School is a member of the 6th Kandak Advisor Team that mentors and partners with the Afghan National Army. “It was a very tough day,” said Capt. Richard Porter. “Everyone did a good job. Winnie was just flying around doing work.” Porter, the Marine advisor team leader to the Afghan National Army 6th Kandak, was the on-scene commander during the events of June 30.
