On Tuesday, October 8 around 3:30 p.m., Marana Police Department officers responded to the National Bank of America located at 11853 West Marana Road in response to a robbery that occurred. Upon arrival, the officers determined that the suspects had fled from the scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit responded to further the investigation. They learned that two adult males entered the bank and jumped over the teller counters, demanding money. One male was armed with a crowbar and one male was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

After the men were given an undisclosed amount of money, both males left the bank. The males were last seen leaving east from the bank in a tan Ford 4-door sedan according to Marana Police Department's Public Information Officer Jose Alvarez.

Officers searched the area and located the Ford sedan near Rillito Vista Park. Officers detained and identified three males, which were seen running from the car as:

1. Ardell Dwayne Lewis, 36-years of age.

2. Phillip Michael Willis, 28-years of age.

3. David Leland Barton, 24-years of age.

Detectives confirmed their involvement and placed all three under arrest. The three males were booked into the Pima County Jail for 1 count of Armed Robbery, 1 count of Aggravated Robbery, 1 count of First Degree Burglary, and 3 counts of Aggravated Assault.
