Mitch Fischer and the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks swarmed Tucson High Friday night, winning 49-0.

In the first play from scrimmage, Fischer ran 36 yards to pay dirt, giving the Nighthawks a 7-0 lead.

In the next offensive drive, it was Fischer again. The tailback took the handoff, and after a couple of spin moves, ran 74 yards for the score with 5:43 left in the first quarter.

In two carries, Fischer had 110 yards and two touchdowns. He scored one more touchdown from a yard out before halftime.

With a running touchdown and two passing scores, quarterback Tyler Williams also had a big night.

Before halftime, the Nighthawks led 42-0.

In the second half, Williams would throw for one more touchdown before calling it a night, giving Ironwood Ridge the 49-0 victory.

Besides a strong offensive performance, the Ironwood Ridge defense had a big night with two interceptions and one fumble recovery.

The Nighthawks are currently 3-0 in the region.
