An aviation day is scheduled on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7 at Naranja Park in Oro Valley. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event highlights a radio-controlled model aircraft airshow, a Homeland Security Blackhawk helicopter display, as well as paragliders landing and display.

The Homeland Security Blackhawk helicopter plans to land at 8:30 a.m. and the model aircraft show begins at 9:30 a.m. The flight of paragliders will land on the field at approximately 10:30 a.m. and will be on display.

The model aircraft show features many typer of aircraft including warbirds, fan jets, helicopters and multi-rotors, 3D and aerobatics, gliders, bomb and parachute drops.

Representatives from the Experimental Aircraft Association and local hobby shops will have booths on display as well.

The event is sponsored by the Sonoran Desert Flyers, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Oro Valley Parks and Recreation.
