The Click Family Foundation and Jim and Sandy Peebles will match online monetary gifts to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 to help families, children and seniors in need this holiday season. The dollar-for-dollar match, until December 31, 2012, will help make up a donation shortfall and a 10% increase in requests for help over last year.

The community is asked to meet the Click and Peebles Holiday Challenge by making a donation online to www.communityfoodbank.org.

For every $1 donated, the Community Food Bank can distribute nearly $9 worth of food or over 4 meals. Last year, the Food Bank distributed over 27 million pounds of food, enough for 62,800 meals every day.

Also remember before the end of the year... Arizona’s charitable tax credit law allows for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on contributions to the Community Food Bank, available to anyone who itemizes on their state return. Taxpayers filing as “single” and “head of household” status may claim a maximum credit of $200. Taxpayers that file as “married filing jointly” may claim a maximum credit of $400. Taxpayers filing as “married filing separately” may claim a maximum credit of $200. Donors have until Monday, December 31, 2012 to meet the requirements.
