The Arizona Distance Classic, planned in Oro Valley this March, is aiming to do more than just get people fit. With the announcement of a new partnership, the Arizona Distance Classic has teamed up with a local elementary school to raise funds for the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation.

The Foundation focuses on continuing Green’s hopes and dreams of the future, which included helping those less fortunate than herself.

After hearing about the Arizona Distance Classic coming in March, Mesa Verde Elementary School teachers Colleen Hehli and Beathany Papajohn decided to build a team to run and cheer in the 2013 Arizona Distances Classic. While participating, the pair of teachers are also focusing on raising money for the Christina-Taylor Green Foundation.

To assist their efforts to raise funds, organizers of the Arizona Distance Classic have agreed to donate $5 directly to the foundation for every member of the Mesa Verde Christina-Taylor Green Foundation team that registers for any ADC distance event.

Those interested in not only participating in the Arizona Distance Classic, but also the fundraiser, can register by visiting Make sure to select the Mesa Verde Christina-Taylor Green Foundation team.

The Arizona Distance Classic is a USA Track & Field sanctioned, community event produced by M3S Sports. It is supported and sponsored by the Town of Oro Valley, Ventana Medical Systems, a member of the Roche group, Northwest Medical Center, All About Running and Walking, Tucson Hilton El Conquistador, Arizona Party Rental, Metropolitan Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau / Tucson Sports, Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce, and media partner the Explorer Newspaper.
