Oro Valley Mayor Satish Hiremath and members of the Town Council helped “roll out the sod” on the new multipurpose fields, at Naranja Park. on Tuesday afternoon.
Construction on the fields began in January, and includes the Town’s first-ever park fed by reclaimed water. It will take the new grass a few months for the roots to take hold, so fields should be ready for the community to enjoy near the end of 2014.
The two fields, which measure 300’ X 200’, can be used for a variety of purposes. They are part of a larger improvement plan that also includes a dog park and parking lot.
Naranja Park is located at 660 W. Naranja Drive in Oro Valley.
