A pedestrian was struck and killed by a northbound train near Rutrauff and the Frontage Road.

On June 3, 2014, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Foothills District deputies responded to the railroad crossing at Ruthrauff Road and the frontage road reference a train hitting a pedestrian.

When deputies arrived, they learned the pedestrian, identified as 34-year-old Joshua Taylor Partner, failed to notice the railroad warning signals and crossed the tracks in front of the northbound train. It was reported Mr. Partner was walking with his head down and wearing headphones before he was struck by the train.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit responded and is investigating the incident.
