The truth is that the world is continuing to arm itself for whatever conflicts are coming. We are arming Israel. Russia and China are helping Iran, North Korea, and their other allies. Missile proliferation is intensifying and the Mideast is the perfect storm for the start of World War III. The Chinese do joint exercises with the Russians, have an enormous nuclear submarine fleet, a large standing army, and huge civilian bunkers for their urban population. In the event of a significant conflict in the Mideast, Israel, as a small nation state, will likely disintegrate under a hail of nuclear missiles. There is a false sense of security in announcements like Barber's support of this anti-missile system. In reality, there are enough missiles to turn much of the world's major cities into dust. At this point, we should be in prayer for peace, because the results of another major conflict may well escalate into a catastrophic event for all of the modern world.
