The Foothills Club of Tucson, a local 501(c)(3)non-profit, charitable organization of local business and civic leaders, has selected veteran non-profit manager ARTIE STONE as Executive Director. Stone is the past President and CEO of Craig Snow & Associates, an association management company working with non-profits, governments and other entities in strategic planning, fundraising and implementation of events. Most recently Stone was with the Arizona Blind & Deaf Children’s Foundation. He replaces Leslie Hargrove who is relocating to Colorado Springs with her husband Steven Hargrove.

The Foothills Club of Tucson raises and distributes funds to children/youth groups in Southern Arizona. Its main fundraising events include a Valentine’s Dinner/Dance in February and Golf Tournament in May, both at Skyline Country Club. Other events include hosting a U of A tailgate party for underprivileged youth, and hands-on volunteering.

FTC president Marc Bleaman reports that so in 2013, FCT has distributed a total of $7,500 to The UAMC Diamond Children’s Pediatric Bereavement Program, Intermountain Centers for Human Development , Nourish Arizona and El Grupo Youth Cycling.

The FTC annual Golf Tournament, with partial proceeds to Aviva Children’s Services and other children charities, is Friday May 3 at Skyline Country Club.

FCT meets at 12:30 the 2nd Friday of every month at The Hacienda Del Sol Grille.
