Canyon Del Oro High School’s two forensics teams took first and third place at the Crime Scene Investigators State Challenge, April 19-20.

Teams from across the state of Arizona converged in Phoenix to compete in a mock crime scene where students solved a crime by applying skills learned during classroom forensics studies. They gathered and processed evidence, conducted interviews and presented their case as if issuing the case to the county attorney for prosecution.

CDO’s forensics program is sponsored by the Oro Valley Police Department School Resource Officer Program, and it receives funding from the Oro Valley Optimist Club and the Oro Valley Community Foundation.
