Continuing a two-year tradition of giving, the Canyon Del Oro football team came together again to donate to students at Prince Elementary School.

This year, the team collected 635 hoodies during school. In addition to school, the team asked the public for hoodie donations at each home football game.

Head football coach Dustin Peace has always been grateful for the generosity of the people who live in and around the high school.

“With the support we get from our community here in Oro Valley, asking them if they could do this, not only for us, but more importantly for them. Doing it all together, it is something that we can do in this community,” Peace said. “I don’t think every community can fundraise and do this type of thing.” Stepping outside of the football field and doing something for others is something that Peace feels is important for his players to do.

“We always talk about how football isn’t everything,” Peace said. “And having them build these relationships with each other and with these kids is really special.”
