As the summer months draw to an end, the Town of Oro Valley is gearing up to resume its regular council meetings.

It is common practice for council to take a recess during August and sometimes the latter half of July, depending on whether there are agenda items to warrant meetings during those periods.

The first meeting following the recess is scheduled take place on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at Oro Valley Town Hall, 11000 N. La Canada Drive.

Oro Valley Communications Administrator Misti Nowak says one item expected to be of importance is a resolution to approve a lease agreement to relocate the Saturday Oro Valley Farmer’ Market from Town Hall to Steam Pump Ranch.

Steam Pump Ranch has undergone numerous improvements and upgrades of late and will continue to receive future upgrades.

“We’re excited at the possibility of bringing the market to the ranch and coupling that with some other cultural and historical program offerings,” she said.

The full meeting agenda will be published online at www.orovalleyaz.gov and www.explorernews.com on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
