Five Marana Police Department patrol vehicles are now equipped with state of the art thermal imagers.  These thermal imagers will assist officers in searching for suspects, vehicles, missing persons, as well as evidence.  This infrared technology allows officers on the ground to have the same basic technology that was previously only available on police aircraft.

Police Officers can view and record images on the computer screen inside their patrol car.

Officer and public safety are also enhanced because an officer will have the ability to search an area more thoroughly and effectively than in the past.

This equipment was purchased using funds awarded to the Marana Police Department through a Operation Stonegarden grant from the US/AZ Department of Homeland Security
