Delta Kappa Gamma is an international organization of women educators whose purpose is to promote the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Aligned with that purpose, Delta Kappa Gamma/Alpha Chapter will host their first annual “Early Career Educator” appreciation and recognition brunch recognizing 16 outstanding early career educators from the Marana Unified School District. The brunch will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

Nominated by their school principal, each honoree is within their first to fifth year of teaching and demonstrates a strong commitment to go above and beyond the norm to provide quality educational experiences for their students. Each early career educator will be presented with a certificate and a one year membership to Treasures 4 Teachers, donated by Long Realty Cares.

“Being recognized as an outstanding early career educator in our community is a wonderful accomplishment,” Nancy Mahon, president of Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Chapter, said. “During this time of economic hardships it is easy for educators to feel unappreciated. Alpha Chapter is pleased to provide this opportunity to appreciate our teachers and call positive attention to the field of education through this event.”
