Oracle road reopened after OVPD officer involved collision

An Oro Valley Police Department officer was involved in a traffic collision Friday afternoon. 

The officer sustained only minor injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.

OVPD traffic investigators are continuing their investigation at the accident scene located on southbound Oracle Rd. and Steam Pump.

It is anticipated the roadway will be closed southbound for the next two hours.

The public is urged to avoid the area.

UPDATE: Oracle Road is now reopened.
