Bloomberg Businessweek has named Oro Valley the best place to raise kids in Arizona, based on a study entitled, "America's Best Places to Raise Kids 2013."

Businessweek and Bloomberg Rankings partnered up to evaluate more than 3,200 communities across the United States, selecting one location in each state based on criteria such as schools, public safety, income, employment and adults' educational levels.

"We're very proud of this distinction," said Mayor Satish Hiremath. "Oro Valley is already known throughout the region for its outstanding public safety and for having some of the highest-performing schools in Southern Arizona. So it's nice to see our community recognized at the national level as well."
