Tucsonans traveling north on Interstate 10 late at night can expect road closures and traffic delays Sunday and Monday due to overnight work to preserve the pavement.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will apply a coat of rejuvenating oil on five miles of Interstate 10 just north of Casa Grande from 11 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, and again from 11 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Work will take place on both eastbound and westbound lanes between mileposts 180 and 185 (SR 387 exit).
Drivers can expect the following during overnight work hours:
• One eastbound and westbound lane will be open in each direction at all times between mileposts 180 and 185.
• Motorists should expect delays of up to five minutes.
• The speed limit will continue to be 75 mph in the open lanes through the construction zone.
• Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
The project schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties.
