When Mr. An opened his first restaurant, Great Wall China, in 1983, it was a most welcome addition to the Tucson culinary community.  With his ready smile, taste for great Asian food, and love for his community, Mr. An and his restaurant were instant hits. In 1991, he opened Sakura, introducing the unique concept of Teppanyaki, which attracted a huge following and put Mr. An front and center as one of Tucson’s most talented, generous citizens.

Today, still going strong, he and his wife Christina and son Bin oversee the An Restaurant Group, which includes Mr. An’s Teppan Steak and Sushi on Oracle and Rudasill, An del Sol and FrozAN at Casino del Sol, and the food court at Casino of the Sun.  At 70+, Mr. An has no intention of slowing down – in fact, plans are currently in the works for future expansion.

As both a restaurateur and philanthropist, Mr. An is legendary, having raised thousands of dollars for many worthy causes in Tucson including the Community Food Bank, Tu Nidito, the Women’s Council of Tucson, the Tucson Girls Chorus and as a four time heart attack survivor, he leads the charge at the American Heart Association’s annual Heart Walk.

The An family invites you to join them for dinner on New Year’s Eve at both Mr. An’s Teppan Steak and Sushi and An Del Sol. Offering special prix fixe menus, regular menu items and more.

From the An Family: “Our warmest greetings to everyone in Tucson for the holidays – wishing the best to all for the New Year –health prosperity and good eating!”
