Pima Community College, partnering with the nonprofit organizations Filipino-American Sampaguita Club of Tucson, the Philippine Mabuhay Cultural Foundation Inc., and the Tucson community, is hosting a benefit cultural dance performance by the award-winning Leyte Dance Theater, April 27.

  • When:  6 p.m., April 27
  • Where:  PCC West Campus Gymnasium, 2202 W. Anklam Road
  • Cost:  $35 per person. Proceeds will benefit survivors of typhoon Haiyan, which ravaged Leyte Island of the Philippines.

“This benefit dance intends to bring attention to the necessary efforts of recovery for the people of the Philippines who were affected by Haiyan,” said Imelda Cuyugan, Assistant Vice Chancellor for State and Local Government Relations and coordinator of the event.

The Leyte Dance Theater has been one of the top dance companies in the Philippines for 20 years, and has performed in major cultural centers around the world.
