Spirit Art House presents “Student Series 2014” at The Parish gastropub. Arizona’s next generation of artists will be on display featuring the work of gifted students from the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. The diverse exhibition will feature works in various mediums from photography to drawing and oil painting through May 31. There will be an opening reception on Sunday, May 18 at 5 p.m. where patrons will be able to meet the young local artists and discuss their individual works.

The nine students featured in the Student Series are all individually unique as is their creative inspiration.

“I am inspired by figure drawing and feminist art as well as Surrealist art,” said UA senior Brooke Summers. “I really admire Frida Kahlo and her revolutionary ideas about what it means to be a woman.”

The Parish, at 6453 N. Oracle Road, is dedicated to supporting local arts and showcasing local talent year-round in its restaurant. For more information, contact Steve Dunn at 797-1233.
