Market on The Move
J.D. Fitzgerald/The Explorer

Pima Community College’s Campus Diversity and Student Veterans clubs will co-host Market on the Move events March 29 and May 31 at Downtown Campus.

Both events will take place in the north parking lot 8-11 a.m. During that time, people who show up can donate $10 and receive as much as 60 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Those buying the produce are urged to use what they need and share with friends and neighbors.

A portion of the donations collected will go to the clubs to support upcoming activities.

Volunteers are needed to help staff the event. To volunteer call Sharon Arceneaux, 206-7263.

The clubs are teaming with The 3000 Club to encourage residents eat more fresh produce, share with their communities and support academic excellence. The allotments come from The 3000 Club, a Phoenix nonprofit organization that rescues excess produce from the Arizona-Mexico border for distribution in metro Phoenix and Tucson.
