On May 3rd and 4th Legacy Traditional School Northwest Tucson (LTSNW) Performing Arts students will be putting on Seussical Jr. the musical. This will mark the second production for LTSNW students.
Last year their production of Annie was so successful that it was performed to sold out crowds at each showing.
The play will run on Friday May 3rd at 7 p.m. and Saturday May 4th at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.
Seussical Jr. will mark well over a year's worth of work by the students. Tim K. an eighth grader who plays the Cat in the Hat said, “Our theater performing program at Legacy is unique and we put everything into this production. It's all or nothing. When show night comes around you will be blown away.”
Luiza Schwartz, Music and arts teacher and director for Suessical Jr. explained that it is rare that elementary and junior high students have the opportunity to be involved in such a large scale performance akin to a High school musical, but that is exactly the scale LTSNW brings with this performance. With over 70 hand made costumes, sets, and props audiences will be immersed into the world of Dr. Seuss as they watch the stories they love come to life.
The performance is open to the public, but seating is limited and tickets should be purchased early in order to guarantee availability. Tickets can be purchased starting April 15th at the front office of LTSNW for $6.00. Legacy Traditional School is located at 3500 N Cortaro Farms.
