September 6, 2006 - Fore! Golf took precedence on Aug. 26th and 27th at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort, 10,000 N. Oracle Road, but not your average golf.

More than 90 Frisbee golf players embarked on the resort for the 2006 Tumbleweed Open presented by Tucson Chain Lightning. The El Conquistador converted its golf course with specialized chain nets to accommodate the event. Frisbee Golf follows the rules of golf only with a Frisbee.

Dan Ginnelly of Scottsdale shot a four round 208 to win the Open Division by 11 strokes.

The event is part of Arizona Disc Golf Club's 2006 Southwest Cactus Series, which features 31 events throughout the state and Southern California. The series returns to Tucson on Nov. 25 at the Santa Cruz River Park for the Turkey Shootout.
