The Mountain View High School football team started its season with a bang Friday when the team beat Catalina Foothills High School 35 to 6.

Eddie Arizmendi led the team with three touchdowns, 109 yards rushing and a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Also starting the season last weekend were Marana, Ironwood Ridge and Pusch Ridge high schools with one wins and two losses. Ironwood Ridge defeated Flowing Wells 20-13 while Marana lost to Amphi 38-14 and Pusch Ridge was

beaten by San Manuel 25-14. There will be four more games this week, with

Canyon del Oro playing its first game Sept. 5 against Corona del Sol. Also on Sept. 5: Marana vs. Flowing Wells, Ironwood Ridge vs. Cienega and Pusch Ridge vs. Higley.
