Oro Valley resident Paul Blair took this photo of a red-winged black bird in cottonwood early last month at the Dead Horse Ranch State Park. The developed portion of the park covers 423 acres and the area, at an elevation of 3,300 feet, accommodates camping, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing and bird watching.
