Canyon Del Oro held off a late Gilbert American rally to win 6-5 and remain undefeated at the 10-11 Baseball Little League All-Star State Championship Tournament in Oro Valley.

CDO took a 6-2 lead into the final inning, but Gilbert American plated three runs, giving CDO a real scare.

CDO scored two runs in the top of the first then added two more in the third to go up 4-0. Gilbert cut the lead in half with two runs in the fourth, but CDO came right back with two more in the top of the fifth.

Dominic Felix pounded out three hits for CDO, while Hayden Palmer struck out five in 5 1/3 innings.

The win advanced CDO to the championship bracket where they could be just two wins away from a state title. They next take the field Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. at Kreigh Park #1.
