The third ranked Canyon Del Oro softball team won its 13th consecutive game with a 7-2 win over No. 7 Sabino.

After scoring a run in the first, the Dorados actually trailed 2-1 heading into the fourth inning, but tied the game with a run in that inning and took control with three more in the fifth. They put an exclamation point on the game with a two-run seventh.

With the exception of a two-run third, and neither run was earned, Randi Longville was masterful. She scattered three hits over seven innings, striking out four. The sophomore hurler improved to 11-4 on the season, getting the better of another top arm. The loss was just the fourth for the Sabercats Ashlee Skilling, who is 15-4 on the season.

Rebecca Ziegler was terrific at the plate, going 3-4 with a home run, three runs scored and  and two RBI. Samantha Nettling also drove in two, while Monique Castillo scored twice.

The Dorados have three games left on the slate, including a Friday trek to the Phoenix area to meet Poston Butte and are looking to wrap up a top-four seed, which would give them a first round bye and a home game to open the tournament.
