Ironwood Ridge is serving notice that they may have one of the best defenses in southern Arizona. The Nighthawks got another terrific defensive effort to beat Cienega 17-7 on Friday night.

Over the last six quarter the Nighthawks have surrendered just 10 points.

Cienega actually took a brief lead in the second quarter after Adriell Alvarado scored from two yards out and gave the Bobcats a 7-3 lead.

A few minutes later Michael Franzese found Christopher Babyak on a 14-yard strike to go up 10-7. Franzese was 2-4 for 32 yards and ran 22 times for 144 yards. Cole McLafferty added 74 yards on the ground.

He scored from three-yards out in the fourth quarter to seal the win for the Nighthawks.

Cienega’s Alvarado was 18-29 for 159 yards.
