Pusch Ridge duo of Davis Towne and Cameron Vick have advanced to the Division III Boys Doubles State quarterfinals and will meet Marc Anthony Luna and Emilio Mendez of Bisbee. They return to the court on May 2, at the Paseo Racquet Club in the Phoenix area.

Thanks to being seeded No. 2 overall, the duo got a first round bye on Saturday, then dispatched of a team from Combs High School 6-4, 6-4. That one win was enough to get them their quarter final date.

Jarod Bristol advanced to the quarterfinals in the boys singles tournament and will face fifth seeded Noah Linskey of Northland Prep.

Bristol also received a first round bye and then beat Florence’s Anthony Parrish-Lacson 6-1, 6-2.

As a team the Lions are ranked second and will host No. 15 Fountain Hills on Tuesday.

On the girls side the team of Delaney Halvey and Shelby Harris fell in the first round to Pima’s Emma Thompson and Journey Graver. The Pima duo prevailed 6-4, 6-2.

The 14th seeded Lion girls will visit Buckeye Union on Wednesday afternoon to open the team tournament.
