Last month, the Catalina Foothills School District swore in the newest member of the CFSD Governing Board, Sherri Silverberg, to fill in the position until December. Voters within the area will select a new board member as part of the November election ballot to fill in the remaining two years of the term of the late Dr. John Bergan.

The governing board consists of five members elected to serve four-year terms.

Silberberg is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience in her field, but also has an impressive history of working within the school district. She previously served on the governing board both as president and vice president; worked as president of the Manzanita Elementary School Family Faculty Organization; been a member of the Orange Grove Middle School Site Council, co-treasurer of the Orange Grove Middle School Family Faculty Organization, a member of the district’s and Manzanita Elementary School’s strategic plan committees, sat as co-chair of the high school’s grad night and been involved in many other school activities.

Silverberg’s family has lived in the district for over 30 years. Her two daughters attended CFSD schools from Valley View Preschool through Catalina Foothills High School.
