Linda Barr, owner of Skin Care By Design, really knows how to get under her client’s skin, with a needle that is.
Located at 11143 N. La Cañada Drive., Skin Care By Design is a physician’s office and spa all in one, offering a plethora of skin care treatments to clients with a wide variety of needs. From Botox and filler injections, to micro peels and laser hair removal, both women and men leave this Medispa relaxed and with great looking skin.
Barr, 63, moved to Tucson 20 years ago with her husband from her home state of Kansas. Having worked hard to receive her R.N. and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees in Kansas City, Barr moved to Arizona equipped to open her own practice. She took business classes at Pima Community College and opened Skin Care By Design almost 10 years ago in the hopes of helping people have better feeling and looking skin.
“It’s not rocket science, it’s not surgery, but it’s helping individual people meet their personal skin care goals and feel good about themselves,” Barr said.
Barr feels very lucky that many of her clients keep coming back, pleased with the results of their treatments.
“We are more education and result driven than a lot of other medical spas are,” Barr said. Nurses at Skin Care By Design stress the importance of sunscreen to their clients and have on occasion noticed areas on patients that could lead to skin cancer.
“We go above and beyond just an aesthetician,” she said.
Barr attributes the success of her business to surrounding herself with good people.
“The women who work here are outstanding,” she said. “They’re the wind beneath my wings.”
Not to mention her clients who can’t seem to stay away.
Having recently expanded her business and rebranding its image, Barr has high hopes for the future. She’s excited to see where her newest changes will take her company and as always, is looking forward to providing outstanding services for her customers.
Skin Care By Design is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located at the Southwest corner of La Cañada Drive and Naranja Road.
