There are people who give and people who take. Sherri Hitchings is a person who gives. In an impressive 30-year career, Hitchings has served our country as a six-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and as an active member and chair of multiple community organizations. She is the current Alzheimer’s Association Walk Chair for Tucson and Green Valley.

Her professional path includes 24 years of service with Verizon as the director of sales and marketing operations.

Since 2011, Hitchings has worked at Odyssey (Gentiva) Hospice, first as an account executive and now as the manager of volunteer services.

Volunteer services is an essential part of the hospice philosophy of care which recognizes that dying is not just a medical event, but a personal one as well. Volunteers are important members of the team and find it personally gratifying and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need.

Contact Sherri Hitchings to see how you can become a volunteer.
