Oro Valley

On Thursday, Nov. 15, at about 7:03 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to a report of a fight at the entrance to the Catalina Crossings Apartments, 9095 N. Oracle Rd. Police learned that the argument was between a man and a woman who are separated and are working through marital issues involving each of them having affairs. After the woman told that man she had an affair, he became upset and wanted to know who the person was. While she was leaving, he tried to stop her by grabbing her wrist and later putting his hand on her shoulder. Both were told to go to their separate homes and to stay apart until they have cooled down.

On Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 2:34 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to a house on the 10000 block of North Autumn Hill Lane in response to a burglary attempt. The woman told police that a window on her house was cracked. She wasn’t sure if someone had attempted to open the window or if a bird had flown into the window. Nothing else was damaged. The window is valued at $300.

On Sunday, Nov. 11, at 8:58 p.m., an Oro Valley officer working on a task force in the Ironwood National Monument pulled a car over. The driver told police that he didn’t have any drugs, guns, large sums of money and he wasn’t smuggling people. He told police he was in the area looking at sheep. Police found this odd due to the time of night. When the man exited the car, they noticed he was wearing shorts and his legs were scratched, which police also found odd for someone who was in the desert trying to find sheep. Along with food, cooking utensils and a sleeping bag, police also found a rifle and bullets. Police believed the man to be a smuggler scout who watches for and alerts smuggling groups of police in the area. The man didn’t have any warrants but was a convicted felon and it was against his probation to have a gun. He was arrested with a class four felony and booked into the Pima County Jail.
