Oro Valley

On Friday, Feb. 7, at 11:16 a.m., Oro Valley police responded to a report of drug paraphernalia found in a room on the 1000 block of North Iron Drive. A mother found her son cleaning a pipe, which he said he used for smoking marijuana. The kid admitted to smoking marijuana the day prior. The mother asked police to arrest him, which they did, cited and released him for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

 

On Thursday Feb. 6, at 10:45 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to a theft from the Circle K at 8780 N. Oracle Road. An employee described a man to police who came into the store and walked directly to the beer section. He then grabbed two 12-packs of beer and then ran through the store and out the door. The beer was valued at $25.92. Police asked for the manager to give them surveillance footage. 

 

On Thursday, Feb. 6, at about 12:57 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to a domestic dispute near Moore Road and La Cañada Drive. Before police arrived, they were told the husband of the caller was drunk and had put a hole in the wall, broke a vase and spit on his wife’s car. The man told police that, after an argument, he went to go get the mail. In doing so, he slammed the door, which caused the hole in the wall and the vase to break. He said he spit on the car as he went to get the mail. He was arrested for domestic violence/ criminal damage and domestic violence/ disorderly conduct and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

 

MARANA

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, at about 9:20 a.m., Marana police responded to a call about vandalism at a Walmart Neighborhood Market. The caller said she saw three males writing on a soda machine. She said “really?” and they took off. The officer saw the word “Southside”’ written in pink on the top of the soda machine. 

 

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, at about 1:43 p.m., Marana police responded to a call about criminal damage on the 7200 block of West Deserama Drive. The caller said he left the house on Dec. 20, 2013. He said that today at about 11 a.m. he returned home and found his front window by his front door broken. He saw an orange on the ground and dried markings on the window. 

 

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, at about 5:17 p.m., Marana police responded to a call about larceny at 3945 West Costco Drive. The caller said at about 5 p.m. a man and female entered the store. They separated and the male went to the firearm section of the store. The woman later met up with him and they looked at the BB guns. The female removed the gun from the case and tried to conceal it in her purse. The man then took a plastic bag and put the gun in it. The plastic bag was put into the shopping cart. The man pushed the shopping cart out of the store without paying for it.

 

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, at about 7:43 p.m., Marana police responded to a call about criminal damage on the 7800 block of North Via La Habra Road. The caller said his mailbox had been run over by someone on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

 

On Wednesday, Feb. 1, at about 10:09 a.m., Marana police responded to a call about a stolen cell phone on the 100 block of West Watz Street. The caller said she was running a yard sale at her daughter’s house. She said that her phone was taken off a table in the front yard. She said there was one customer. When the customer left the phone was gone. She didn’t actually see the customer take it. The phone is valued at $200.

 

On Wednesday, Feb. 1, at about 2:51 p.m., Marana police arrived at 3662 West Ina Road. The caller said that at about 10 a.m. he showed up at his work and chained his 2012 Fit BMX style bike up. When he returned at about 11:30 a.m. the bike was taken. The bike was valued at $450.
