The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) Home & Garden Show just got better. This locally-produced home show featuring Tucson businesses runs Oct. 5-7 at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC), 260 S. Church Avenue.

Public parking is free in all TCC lots, complements of SAHBA.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. 

Friday is 50/50 Day with half-price admission for those 50 and over.

Home Depot Home Services and Cox Home Security joins long-time sponsors Patio Pools & Spas, Bedmart, Kinetico Water Systems and Southwest Gas.

More seminars and more things to see and do have been added to this year’s show. Home Depot’s team will hold home improvement seminars all weekend on their stage in the arena. The stage will feature seminars on solar for the home, home security, energy efficiency, pool safety, gardening and sleep patterns.

The wineries of Sonoita/Elgin will be part of SAHBA’s Home Show for the third show in a row. They are offering wine samplings from Sonoita/Elgin wineries, about an hour away, right in Tucson’s backyard. Stop by booth B215 in the ballroom and experience the local vineyards.

Join Michaels at the stage in the Ballroom for hands-on craft activities. Michaels is the largest specialty retailer of arts and craft and has been helping crafters of all ages express their imaginations with skill and originality.

Friday will be knitting & crocheting, fine arts, and jewelry demonstrations. Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 pm there will be free kids make-it and take-it crafts and free face painting.

Also on Saturday, SAHBA will host Kathy Cano-Murillo the Crafty Chica back offering her expertise and advice. Kathy Cano-Murillo is the founder of the award-winning She’s been featured in the New York Times and USA Today.  She is the author of seven craft books and two craft-themed novels. Her motto for life is “Crafts. Drama. Glitter.”

Stop by the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association’s Booths #120, to “Ask the Experts”. Get information and resources from SAHBA Members. Find out where to begin in creating an environmentally responsible home.

The Marana Pumpkin Patch will also be participating, offering a selection in the arena.

General admission is $8 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Friday is 50/50 Day with half-price admission for those 50 and over. Half-price military discounts are available all three days with ID.

In addition to free parking at TCC lots, free parking is also available Saturday and Sunday at the City/State garage at Manning House Way and West Congress. Street parking meters are free Saturday and Sunday.
