The case involving the death of Justin Patrick has been presented to the Pima County Attorney's Office. The Pima County Attorney's Office has dismissed the 2nd Degree Murder charge for Jared Patrick pending further results from the autopsy conducted by the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, deputies from the Sheriff’s Department Tucson Mountain District responded to the 16500 block of West Moore Road in reference to a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, Justin Patrick, 47, on the ground in front of the residence, not breathing. Justin’s son, Jared Patrick, 20, was found by responding deputies walking away from the residence. Aid was rendered to Justin until emergency medical services arrived on scene.

Justin was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives learned that Justin and Jared were found fighting by family members outside of the residence. The family was able to separate the two but Justin quickly succumbed to his injuries. Jared was booked at the Pima County Adult Detention Center for Second Degree Murder.
