Fatal pedestrian collision on 2800 South Mission Road

On September 13, at 7:08 p.m., officers from Operations Division South responded to a report of a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian in the 2800 block of South Mission Road.

Officers located an adult male pedestrian with life threatening injuries. He was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival. The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.

Detectives from the Traffic Investigations Unit responded to continue the investigation. They determined that the suspect vehicle was southbound on Mission Road. According to a witness, the pedestrian was seen on the west curb moments before the collision. The pedestrian was struck in the southbound lanes of Mission Road and the suspect vehicle was last seen southbound on Mission Road.

The pedestrian was identified as 50-year old Daniel Cordova.

The suspect vehicle was described as a light color, small to medium size SUV. The vehicle may have front end and/or windshield damage.
