Fitzgerald/ Special to the Explorer, With the help of an Army sergeant, VFW District 5 member Carl Schelin clips in an Arizona flag after an American flag Saturday morning at the Crossroads at Silverbell Park dedication event. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords brought the flag, which was flown over the nation's capitol. The multiple-use park, off Silverbell and Cortaro roads next to the Santa Cruz River and the Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr., Library, has soccer fields, softball and baseball fields, basketball courts, places for dogs, sand volleyball courts, group and picnic ramadas, play structures, tennis courts, open spaces and paths.
