Sun-Tran will not be providing its traditional shuttle service to the 86th Annual Tucson Rodeo Parade.

The parade takes place at 9 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, and is the largest single day event in Arizona, attracting more than 150,000 spectators lining the streets in southern Tucson in anticipation of the nation’s longest non-motorized parade.

“While we’re disappointed at the loss of shuttle service, Tucsonans still have convenient transportation options for attending the 86th Annual Tucson Rodeo Parade,” said Marshall Stewart, public information officer for the Tucson Rodeo Parade Committee.

Those who wish to ride the bus to the parade area can access bus route information leading to the Roy Laos Transportation Center at or by calling 792-9222.  The cost of a Sun-Tran day pass is $3 per person. The Laos Transportation Center is approximately one block west of the parade grandstands at south 6th avenue and Irvington road.

The parade route begins at Ajo Way and Park Avenue. Entrants travel south on Park Avenue, west onto Irvington Road and north on Sixth Avenue where they return to the Rodeo Grounds.  The route is approximately 2 1/2 miles long.

Spectators driving to the parade will have the traditional access to parking on the rodeo grounds through the gate on third Avenue.  Access the third avenue gate by traveling west bound on Irvington to third, then through the gate.

Please note that Irvington is completely closed at 8 a.m. except for parade spectators and performers.

Arrive early to see our pre-parade entertainment beginning at 8 a.m.  Someone at the gate will provide instructions on where to park.
