The 10th anniversary of the Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale, sponsored by the Empire Ranch Foundation and Northern Trust, is being displayed through March 12 at Northern Trust, 3450 East Sunrise Drive in Tucson.
The juried show features 100 pieces of original Western art in oils, acrylics, and watercolor as well as sculpture.
A portion of all sales from the Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale supports the preservation of the Empire Ranch House, a 22-room adobe and wood frame building in Sonoita which dates to 1870 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Ranging from plein air landscapes, to colorful still lifes, to impressionistic and traditional Western art subjects, the Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale offers "an unparalleled view of Western art," a release said.
This year's featured artist is Diana Madaras, a signature member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, who has been featured in 10 one-woman shows, and whose art has begin shown in the Tucson Museum of Art.
The Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale show also features an "Empire Wall," artwork inspired by the images of the Historic Empire Ranch.
