Tohono Chul Park has unexpected back-to-back events
Oro Valley resident Brian Ticknor takes a picture of a night-blooming cereus at Tohono Chul Park during its annual Bloom Night event. Ticknor was taking a picture of “Pipeline Refuge,” a flower named after it was rescued while a pipeline was being dug in the Tucson area. This was the first year it bloomed.
One of the seven night-blooming cereus flowers on “Emerald” stands high and away from the other blooms last Wednesday night at Tohono Chul Park. This year, the park held two Bloom Night Events.
