Buckmaster received the award Thursday, Dec. 16, from Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik. Dupnik cited Buckmaster’s “outstanding achievements” with KUAT’s nightly news program, Arizona Illustrated. Buckmaster left that program last week.

Buckmaster has made an “outstanding contribution to journalism, informing the public on a vast variety of subjects,” and directly supported public safety in Tucson and Pima County for the past two decades, a sheriff’s release said.
